Blue Hills Counseling & Consultation, LLC is a privately owned mental health counseling practice nestled in eastern KY. It is a business that aims to make quality counseling, psychotherapy, and mental health education available and accessible to individuals in rural eastern Kentucky, as well as throughout Kentucky.
At Blue Hills, our mission is to provide heartfelt and culturally sensitive support to the Appalachian community. Founded by a native of these mountains, we understand the unique challenges and strengths of our people. We are dedicated to building trust and offering compassionate service that respects our rich heritage and deep-rooted values. We aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and understanding needed to navigate life's challenges, fostering healing and growth within our beloved Appalachian family.

 I'm Laura, the founder/CEO of Blue Hills Counseling & Consultation, LLC. As a licensed professional clinical counselor, I specialize in clinical mental health counseling for individuals coping with depressive, anxious, and traumatic stress symptoms. My approach integrates science and research to assist individuals in addressing cognitive and emotional distress through behavioral, cognitive, and holistic interventions. 

My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. This is achieved by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan that is comprised of evidence-based treatment modalities and practices. Much of my clinical approach mirrors cognitive-behavioral therapy. I am an advocate for education, and I utilize psychoeducation with my clients throughout the treatment process.
